Martin Whitfield MP has contacted local residents who attended the public meeting on Riverside Medical Practice held earlier this year at the Fisherrow Centre to update them on the outcomes of the meeting.

Mr Whitfield has been in discussion with the practice since the meeting and has sent a report on the meeting and Riverside’s response to those attendees who left their contact details.

Commenting on events since the public meeting, Martin Whitfield MP said:

“Kezia Dugdale and I held the public meeting on local GP services because so many constituents had raised concerns about their experiences at Riverside Medical Practice. The attendance at that packed meeting and the various questions raised by attendees underlined the difficulties many people had faced.

At this time the practice do not feel it would be appropriate to give more detailed responses to the issues raised that evening nor meet with me to discuss them further. I have to say that I am disappointed with this lack of engagement from Riverside.

“However, they have offered assurances that they are addressing the key issues raised at the meeting. I hope that patients are seeing improvements in the service at the practice but would urge anyone who is still experiencing problems to report them to Riverside.”

Anyone with a query or complaint about the practice should contact them at
