Martin Whitfield MP has lent a hand with East Lothian Foodbank’s latest food collections in local Tesco stores.

The MP joined other volunteers at the Musselburgh Tesco to encourage local shoppers to donate food items to help the foodbank maintain its stocks.

Speaking afterwards, Martin Whitfield MP said:

“It is a tragedy that so many local people need to seek assistance from East Lothian Foodbank just to get by. I joined other volunteers in Musselburgh at one of the three food collections taking place at Tesco stores across the county.

“The generous donations made at these collections are the mainstay of the foodbank’s supplies, so I’m encouraging local people to please give what they can and help those in our communities experiencing crisis this Christmas.”
