Local fundraiser Scott Glynn’s success in being awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List has been highlighted on the floor of the House of Commons.
Speaking during Commons Business Questions, Martin Whitfield MP asked the Leader of the House to join him in congratulating Mr Glynn on his award and the work he has done through his Walk with Scott Foundation.
Martin Whitfield MP said:
“Today I asked the Leader of the House of Commons to join with me and congratulate Scott Glynn on his MBE, richly deserved recognition for his work through the Walk with Scott Foundation and his devotion to helping people in East Lothian.
“There has been a wonderful community reaction to Scott’s honour and I was keen to highlight his success in Parliament. Business Questions was the perfect opportunity to raise it in the context of the amazing work being undertaken by volunteers in communities across the country.
“The Leader of the House also congratulated Scott on his award and this is now recorded in Hansard for posterity!”
