Martin Whitfield MP is backing a new campaign aimed at supporting Britain’s pubs over the summer holiday period.
Launched by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the simple aim of Summer of Pub is to encourage more people to socialise at a pub in their area this summer.
As part of the campaign, CAMRA is asking people to take a photo of themselves at the pub and post it on social media using the hashtag #SummerofPub to show their support.
Martin Whitfield MP said:
“I’m pleased to support #SummerofPub and join CAMRA in urging people in East Lothian to consider supporting local pubs this summer. It’s a great time to check out different pubs either in your local area or while on holiday.
“East Lothian boasts many excellent pubs, with several having been recognised in national and regional awards. They sustain jobs and act as important community hubs to allow people to come together and socialise.”
