Martin Whitfield MP has visited Musselburgh Athletic FC to catch up with club President Karl Cleghorn and discuss the club’s exciting plans for the future.
His visit came just days after it was announced that Mussleburgh, Haddington and Tranent will receive support from East Lothian Council to install floodlights at their stadiums.
Martin Whitfield MP said:
“I was pleased to visit the club to meet Karl and pass on my thanks to him and his colleagues for everything the club does for the town and the local community.
“By happy coincidence, my visit came in the week it was announced that, along with Haddington Athletic and Tranent Juniors, the club has received substantial funding from East Lothian Council to allow them to install floodlights at their respective stadiums and meet SFA requirements.
“This is obviously great news for the clubs, players, fans and volunteers, as well as the local communities, and I’m delighted that the Council has supported them in this important way.”
